Emanuela Barazia, mezzosoprano, started singing ancient and baroque music with the Viotti Polyphonic Choir of Vercelli. Following courses at the S.Cordero di Pamparato Institute, and in Lacoste with the Deller Consort of London, she continued her studies at the Genoa Conservatory N. Paganini. and then with Ann English Santucci, Margaret Baker Genovesi and Rolando Nicolosi.
Winning the prestigious St. Cecilia Academy Choir Competition gave her the opportunity to sing as a soloist in many concerts. She has enjoyed great success in many competitions including G. B. Pergolesi and Città di Conegliano in 1992, M. Battistini in 1994, Citta' di Roma in 1996 and Citta' di Alcamo in 2000.
In 1997 she began her career as a soloist singing Rosina Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Gran Teatro La Fenice. Subsequent repertoire includes Santuzza Cavalleria Rusticana,Belisa in Paisiello's Il Re Teodoro in Venezia, Dorabella Cosi'fan tutte, Marc Le Martyre de S.Sebastienne, Suzie La Rondine, Cherubino Nozze di figaro, Panni's Il Giudizio di Paride, Waltraute Gotterdammerung, Kundry Parsifal, Dido in Dido and Enea, and in concert Verdi's Requiem, Rossini's Petite Messe Solemnelle and Stabat Mater, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater,Beethoven Choral Symphony, Schumann's Manfred in Rome, Naples, Palermo, Brescia, Bari, Bergamo, Pavia, Cremona, Padoa, Piacenza, Como, Ascoli, Brussels, Antwerp, Munich, Wiesbaden, Nice, Tourcoing, Seville, Bangkok and the Tiroler Festspiele in Erl.
Recent engagements include Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle at the Tiroler Festspiele, and Rossini Stabat Mater in Vercelli. She collaborated in Spain with Andalus Lyrical Company of Sevilla with many recitals of opera and spanish music, included a recital at the Real Alcazar of Sevilla, or the Italica Foundation in Santiponce, for the Cordoba University, and a Christmas concert in the Cathedral of Sevilla.
Other engagements include Verdi's Fenena Nabucco in Italian Theaters, a Rossini'Petite Messe Solemnelle in UK, Griemgerde Walküre for Bangkok Opera, Adalgisa in a new production of Norma in Italy and Verdi's Requiem in Chester Cathedral and for the Fakenham Choral Society. She made her debut as Verdi's Azucena Trovatore for Burry Port Opera in English, sung Handel Messiah in Wales and debut Verdi's Ulrica Ballo in Maschera. Emanuela obtained a Diploma LTCL in Performance Singing with distintion at the Trinity Guildhall of London.
