Martin Lloyd
Martin Lloyd comes from Swansea. He has performed with Torfaen Choral Society on a number of occasions in the past, most recently a performance of Haydn's Seasons.
He is currently a full-time member of the chorus of Welsh National Opera. He has performed several roles with WNO including, most recently, Count Ceprano Rigoletto, Imperial Commissioner Madame Butterfly and Dr Grenvil La Traviata. Prior to joining WNO Martin worked with various touring companies, performing roles that include Sarastro Magic Flute, Seneca Coronation of Poppea, Colline La Boheme and Zuniga Carmen.
Besides opera and oratorio work, Martin has performed as a concert soloist with numerous male choirs including Pontarddulais, Dunvant, Morriston Orpheus and London Welsh. He has also appeared on several S4C broadcasts. Before singing professionally Martin enjoyed considerable success in eisteddfod competition. He won baritone and bass solo competitions at the Welsh National Eisteddfod on four occasions, culminating in gaining the Blue Ribbon Prize at the National Eisteddfod in 2004.
